For some reason I can't feel comfortable when I see something is left/undeleted on my PC (I'm talking about registry). I know registry files are very small and doesn't impact the storage of my SSD, however, I read a lot of comments that nobody should ever clean registry or defrag it on SSD drives. But I can't do that, when I know something is left after I uninstall software I simply can't live normally, sometimes I even manually search whole registry for anything related to the software I uninstalled:-PRevo Uninstaller Pro and CCleaner are amazing to do that automatically and I do it all the time.So honest question, will my addiction have a bad impact on my SSD? What is the real reason that nobody should clean/defrag registry on SSD drives? I hear A LOT of people talking to avoid doing it but I don't know why!.
IN terms of defrag it on a traditional spinning disk it reads the disk and it moves data to a point where the hard drive can read it quicker and doesnt require the rad arm to go back and forward alot, It helps with access speed and extending your hard drives life. However on a SSD you dont have moving parts but if you defrag it you are going to do mulitple read and write cycles of the full drive. Your SSD has a limited lifecycle or read and writes, Your OS should do a 'trim' operation that will do clearing with minimum read/write. A traditional Defrag will not be so freindly and will considerably shorten the life of your SSD. Registry defragmentationThat doesn't even make sense and isn't a thing.
